Associates gain valuable work experience by working in our facilities and training with local business partners. Individuals can gain retail experience in our stores, trade skills at Deseret Manufacturing, and other work skills while assisting people worldwide at the Latter-day Saint Humanitarian Center.

New Life for Goods

New Life for Goods

When Deseret Industries (DI) opened in 1938, Elder John A. Widtsoe established four guiding purposes for it: “First, those who have will be given another type of opportunity to help those who have not. Second, waste will be reduced by keeping our possessions in use as long as possible. Third, the work of renovation will employ many now unemployed. Fourth, articles in common use, of good quality, will be available at a low cost” ("Editorial: Deseret Industries," Improvement Era, Sept. 1938, 544).

Community Partnerships and Grants

Community Partnerships and Grants

We strive to reach out to local communities by partnering with community agencies to assist those whom they serve and provide service opportunities for groups and individuals.

Humanitarian Aid

Humanitarian Aid

“There is a serious need for the charity that gives attention to those who are unnoticed, hope to those who are discouraged, aid to those who are afflicted. True charity is love in action. The need for charity is everywhere" (Thomas S. Monson, "Charity Never Faileth," Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2010, 124).

What better way is there to show love than by helping others? Want to make more room in your life and make a difference at the same time? Consider donating; we restock with thousands of new items every day. Items not sold in our stores are sent off for humanitarian relief, where the items will do a lot of good.
