Sandy is all about serving others. She's spent the last several years helping her mother, her daughter (who has medical problems), and her granddaughter. Family is important to her, and she wants to be able to support those closest to her to the best of her ability. And that is what brought Sandy to DI—she wants to improve herself, get a better job, and take care of her loved ones.

 

"I'm trying to get ahead, get a fresh start on things," says Sandy. In the past, Sandy has worked many different jobs. "I've always been a cleaner, a cashier, a landscaper—stuff like that."

 

To begin with, Sandy is planning to get her GED. She's not sure what career path she wants to take, but she believes that as she goes step-by-step, she'll figure it out. "I don't know what I want to go into. But I will someday," she says with confidence.
