Hello, Houston!: Visit Our New Deseret Industries Thrift Store and Donation Center in Texas

We are excited to announce the opening of our new Deseret Industries store in Houston, Texas, on April 15! Find us at 8625 Cypress Creek Parkway to shop and donate. You can also work with us and receive job training!

The Houston Deseret Industries is our 45th retail location—and our first thrift store and donation center outside of the western United States! This exciting hallmark in our history is thanks to the support of shoppers, donors, and others who support our mission at all our locations. Every community that we’re a part of is important to us, and we hope to expand to even more communities in the future.

The Mission of Deseret Industries

At Deseret Industries, donations and purchases help fund job-training for people in the community so they can get support, training, or education and launch into a career in a field that interests them. The Houston Deseret Industries will be able to help at least 60 associates at any given time.

The History of the Houston Deseret Industries

The building that would eventually become the Houston Deseret Industries was originally purchased in 2017. With some construction over the past few years, this building has transformed into a Deseret Industries.

As soon as the building was purchased, it was used as a place to provide assistance to the community. When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints used the building as a command center to help provide relief. The building was used for similar purposes with Hurricane Hanna in 2020. During both hurricanes, the building stood as a safe place and never experienced any flooding. We hope that the Houston Deseret Industries will continue to bless and benefit the lives of those in the community.
