Not all that long ago, Brad was at a crossroads in his career.
“I felt like it was time to make a change,” he recalls.
In response, Brad came to Deseret Industries to work as an operational supervisor—a move that proved to be a great decision.
“This is an awesome job—the best one I have ever had,” Brad says.
As an operational supervisor, Brad has the opportunity to support associates in the DI job training program. His role includes working with associates to set goals and develop important workplace behaviors that will prepare them for future employment.
“I like this job because I get to help people,” he says. “I have associates from the past come back and tell me how grateful they are for my help while they were in the job training program.”
Brad also enjoys working at Deseret Industries because he gets to use his skills in meaningful ways and experiences genuine satisfaction with the work he does.
“Working here has helped me see what my strengths are and then use those talents to help others,” Brad shares. “When I genuinely try to help associates and support them in their role, I can see how I am helping them change and become even better employees.”

Brad’s efforts not only reflect that he is effectively leveraging his strengths—they also demonstrate how he is empowering his associates to succeed and develop their own skills.
“When people are willing to learn and change in the program, they can really grow and gain confidence in themselves,” Brad says. “They begin to believe more in themselves.”
Through experiences like coaching associates and building connections with them, Brad has gained a deeper understanding of others.
“This job has helped me see people for who they really are,” Brad says. “The more that I see people try their best, the more that I am able to see their growth.”
Watching people develop has shown Brad just how meaningful and uplifting his work truly is.
“I have had associates who have really embraced the job training program and improved their lives from it,” Brad says. “This program helps people build healthy relationships and connections.”
