Jewl works at Deseret Manufacturing, building furniture, operating a forklift, loading trucks, and shipping items.

While at Deseret Manufacturing, Jewl is also learning and gaining experience for his next career move. “I’ve learned to be more punctual and more on the ball,” he says.

In addition, Jewl has learned about being dependable. He is able to step in and help when others are out. “I pretty much take the job into my own hands when nobody else is there to do it. I know they know they can count on me. … It feels good,” he says.

Eventually, Jewl would like to work as a truck driver. He did that for a while in the past before the company he worked with went bankrupt. “I was doing pretty well there,” he says. “I’m interested in [doing that again] because you can travel all over and see a lot of places.”
