When Analise began working at Deseret Industries, she was looking for more than just a job. After several years with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at a local airport, medical challenges made it necessary for her to find a different kind of work.
“I had been out of the job market for quite a while,” Analise recalls. As she navigated unemployment, she was drawn to Deseret Industries for its job training and workshops—especially opportunities to strengthen skills like resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace readiness. She soon secured a job as a DI associate, which connected her with valuable resources to build her skills.
“I’ve been able to take part in the job training program, and it’s been fantastic,” Analise says.
In her role, Analise works as a cashier, a position that keeps her active and engaged throughout the day. In addition to running the registers, she helps cover the clothing and shoe areas.
One of Analise’s favorite parts of her job is the opportunity to interact with customers. Working face-to-face with the public has allowed her to build relationships with regular shoppers and connect with people from all walks of life. She also gets a front-row seat to some of the unique treasures that come through Deseret Industries.
“There are a lot of really interesting knickknack-type items,” she says with a laugh. “I enjoy seeing things like antique crystal—things that I’ve only ever seen at my grandmother’s house.”
As part of her daily work, Analise participates in DI’s Ready for Work program, which helps associates build essential workplace behaviors. Through weekly lessons and regular feedback from her supervisor, she tracks her progress in five key areas: dependability, productivity, teachability, professionalism, and teamwork.
“The program gives me a really clear idea of where I’m at and how I’m doing,” she explains. “It helps me see where I can keep improving.”

A key part of Analise’s positive experience at Deseret Industries has been the support she receives from her operations supervisor.
“He’s really good about taking care of his people, making sure we feel supported, and backing us up when we need it,” she says.
Analise also works closely with a development counselor, who provides guidance and encouragement as she plans her next steps. That support has been especially meaningful as she looks to the future.
Her confidence has increased as she’s built new skills and received consistent support. She is currently applying for an operations supervisor position, hoping to build leadership experience and continue learning. Beyond that, she has long-term goals rooted in service.
Analise holds a master’s degree and has had experiences that have shaped her desire to pursue humanitarian work. She hopes her time at Deseret Industries will serve as a springboard toward that future.
She is also passionate about helping others better understand what Deseret Industries truly represents. She emphasizes that it is not just a workplace—it's a place of learning.
“Deseret Industries offers an opportunity for people to learn a lot of different things and gain new skill sets,” she says. “Working at DI is learning employment.”
For Analise, Deseret Industries has been a place of support, growth, and renewed direction, helping her move forward with confidence, purpose, and hope for the future.
