Richard, originally from Colorado and now living in Utah, dreams of working in IT (information technology). He loves video games, technology, and creativity.

 

Since graduating from high school, Richard has struggled to find a good, steady job. He worked in several temporary positions, but nothing permanent ever seemed to pan out. Dealing with some medical challenges also made things difficult for Richard.

 

Deseret Industries is helping Richard get back into school, and his IT dreams are no longer so far away. Working at DI has also helped Richard change his perspective. “I always come in here with a positive mind and outlook because they’re helping me. And that has made me feel better than I’ve felt in years,” says Richard.

 

Richard can now envision a bright future for himself. “Five or ten years down the road, I can see myself sitting [at] a job where I’m happy, having fun. Seeing myself at that point in the future just makes me happy.”
