Carmen had worked as a CNA for 16 years. After moving to Utah she needed to take a test to gain licensure in the state. Unfortunately, she failed her test. She was nervous and unsure when she couldn’t receive her license.

 

Carmen came to Deseret Industries for help. Here she has been studying and preparing to retake her test. But she’s also been gaining new workplace skills, such as communication.

 

“My favorite thing that I’ve learned is how to work as a team,” Carmen said.

 

When Carmen leaves DI, she’s certain that she will have the tools she needs to find long-term success in her career.

 

“When you leave DI you have knowledge and experience. People who come from DI are strong,” Carmen said.
